Going Vegetarian
The government should encourage the people to become vegetarian in many ways. First, let people pay more taxes in restaurants and pay for animals’ activity, since people who eat meat a lot will harm the environment. For example, the government taxes cigarettes to save lives. According to “Higher Cigarette Taxes” (2009), “Increasing cigarette taxes is a WIN, WIN, WIN solution for governments — a health win that reduces smoking and saves lives; a financial win that raises revenue and reduces health care costs; and a political win that is popular with the public” (para.1). By analogy to increase taxes on meat means helping to reduce the consumption; moreover, the harm for the environment will be decreased. Also, people in the world are afraid of heart disease. Brody (1983) writes, “In a 1982 study of more than 10,000 vegetarians and meat eaters, British researchers found that the more meat consumed, the greater the risk of suffering a heart attack” (para.4). People want to keep themselves far away from heart disease. Moreover, people want to live in a clean environment, without pollution, without high carbon dioxide. People try to do everything in order to create a pure environment. According to Massey (2007), “Britain's 40 million motorists face a new 'green' stealth tax that will send petrol prices soaring and force up the cost of a car by thousands of pounds” (para.1). If the people will pay more taxes, they will think a lot before any step that they will go on: people like money and they do not want to pay.
Next, people should go vegetarian because vegetarian food is economical. People can buy vegetarian food; it is cheaper than non-vegetarian food. Vegetarian food saves a lot of water, crops, and gas. Freston and Post (2009) write, “If everyone went vegetarian just for one day, the U.S. would save: 100 billion gallons of water . . . 1.5 billion pounds of crops . . . 70 million gallons of gas . . . 3 million acres of land . . . 33 tons of antibiotics” (para.2). This is for one day in the US. If this happens in all countries for all days, people will take a lot of benefits. Moreover, if the people go vegetarian, a lot of advantages will happen. Also, Freston and Post (2009) write, “If everyone went vegetarian just for one day, the U.S. would prevent: Greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 1.2 million tons of CO2 . . . 3 million tons of soil erosion and $70 million in resulting economic damages; 4.5 million tons of animal excrement; almost 7 tons of ammonia emissions, a major air pollutant” (para.3). Moreover, animals want a lot of food and water to produce meat and this amount of food and water can feed many families. For example, according to Vijay (n.d.), “If a sheep eats 7 pounds of grain, it can grow one pound of meat. The fertile land and water that about 100 (20 families) of those who consume only rice and water need, will be needed for the subsistence of animals whose meat can suffice for 15 (3 families) of those who eat meat” (para.7). People want to save food and therefore they will change their life and become vegetarians.
Moreover, people should go vegetarian because awareness campaigns from the medical centers give them a lot of information about the benefits of vegetarian food. They should talk to the people and explain everything about the vegetarian food, its benefits, and what the difference between the vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is. If the doctors explain the risk of eating meat to the people, then many people will change their minds about the food that they eat. When the doctors talk about the relationship between heart disease and eating meat, a lot of people will go to vegetarian food. People listen carefully to what the doctors say more than anyone, especially if this speech is about their lives. Women like to live with low weight, so they should go vegetarian. Going vegetarian has a lot of benefits like human health and environment. According to Feazell (n.d.), “To name just a few health benefits: reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer, control your weight, live longer, and build stronger bones” (para.2). People in the world are afraid of heart disease. Brody (1983) writes, “In a 1982 study of more than 10,000 vegetarians and meat eaters, British researchers found that the more meat consumed, the greater the risk of suffering a heart attack” (para.4). People want to keep themselves far away from heart disease. People are afraid of the diseases and they are ready to follow the instructions from anyone, especially from the doctor, to help them to stay far away from any disease.
Finally, people should encourage each other in order to stay alive with good health. Some people who have a good experience of vegetarian foods should tell their friends that vegetarian foods are healthier than non-vegetarian foods and they have a lot of benefits. One of these benefits is that they did not lose protein in their bodies. According to “Vegetarian and Vegan: Vegan Protein” (2009), “Eating a wide variety of foods is the key to having a healthy, balanced diet. This approach is particularly important for vegans because, apart from a few foods such as tofu, hempseed and 'grains' such as quinoa, most plant proteins have a low content of one or more of the essential amino acids needed by the body” (para.10). People can gain a lot of protein if they eat a variety of plants. Also, other people are interested in their diet, which contains vegetarian foods only. They can do any activity, they do not have obesity, and they say to their friend that anyone can be interested in his life if this person becomes vegetarian. Women are afraid of obesity and of breast cancer. They say that eating a lot of meat will give the meat eater more protein that causes a risk to the health. According to “High protein diet warning” (2001), the author say that “High-protein diets may pose a risk to health” (para.1). In addition, women who are vegetarian say that we have a good health and the breast cancer far from us. They say that to their friends. According to “Red Meat Link To Breast Cancers” (2006), the author say that “Eating large amounts of red meat may double young women's breast cancer risk” (para.1). Women will be at risk if they eat a lot of red meat.
Opponents of people going vegetarian claim that people will lose a lot of protein that they need. However, they can get the protein from peas, beans and soybeans. Some people eat meat every day and they have good health. However, vegetarian foods make your body healthier with low cholesterol and do not affect it negatively. Some people say that vegetarian food is cheaper than meat. However, there are some countries where meat is not too expensive. For example, in the US the meat is cheap, if anyone compares the price with that in other countries. For example, if anyone compares the price of meat, such as lamb, in the US and the price of the same meat in Jordan, this person will see a big difference even though the income in Jordan is less than the income in the US. The price of big lamb is approximately $200 in Jordan while anyone can buy the same lamb in the US from $120 until $140 from the farm. Moreover, some people say that the meat eater is stronger than the person who depends on vegetarian foods only because they have more protein, but the people who eat vegetarian foods only can substitute the protein from beans. Also, meat eaters have a high level of cholesterol and they are fat; some of them are 250 pounds or more.
In conclusion, people should go vegetarian, since they want to keep their health and keep a clean environment, save a lot of money, and follow the instruction of their doctors in order to live more. People must eat varieties of vegetarian food to substitute for the amount of protein that they lost. The environment becomes clean, without a lot of carbon dioxide. In addition, people can spend a little time to prepare their food, since vegetarian food does not require a lot of time over the fire like meat, and they save a lot of money and do not need to buy medicine. People can do good exercise and do all their activities because they are not fat. People will not see obesity if they become vegetarian and so they can do all activities that they want to do. People can help each other since some of them have an experiment and they tell their friends. Going vegetarian is very healthy, is economical, and is better for our environment. If people want to see the new generation, they must change their minds and go vegetarian and look at meat as from the past.

Wikipedia
The first reason that Wikipedia is not a good idea is that there is no privacy. People want to find information through the Internet, so they seek any site that can help them. Wikipedia has a lot of information, but there are some risks since it is free and anyone can write in it without restrictions. Also, people can read what the others wrote and they can edit anything that they see if it is unnecessary or does not go with their thought. On other hand, people can change the idea of the writer in Wikipedia by making some alterations in the article. Moreover, people can add some information to the article without knowing any idea about the subject and maybe it contradicts the writer’s idea. According to Wolverton (2007), “While encyclopedias and journals are generally authored by scholars and peer reviewed before publication, Wikipedia articles can be written and edited by anyone at anytime, bringing about a debate over the risk of giving those outside academia the power to create and contribute to articles on scholarly subjects. Furthering this, users can add, alter, or remove information without registering a user account, giving those who visit the site free and anonymous reign over the available information” (para.7). Since the site is free, people can do whatever they want to do.
Next, Wikipedia is an inaccurate resource, so the researchers cannot trust any information from Wikipedia. Therefore, it is difficult to get the right information because it is open to all people to input what they want. Furthering this, the university, professors asked the students to avoid using Wikipedia as a source, and they do not accept the information from Wikipedia a valid or let them to do any research. According to Lengel (2006), “(Wikipedia) is an encyclopedia compiled by the voluntary contributions of hundreds of writers and editors. Anyone can write an article and post it to the Wikipedia; anyone else can come along later and edit the article. It's a kind of open, voluntary, work in progress. As such, it's the most up-to-date encyclopedia you'll find” (para.6). The author mentioned that there are a lot of people who can write in Wikipedia, so we feel that there is a competition between the people who want to share thoughts. People cannot trust information, as mentioned above. Some people write their opinions and others delete them. Also, there is another reason that makes Wikipedia inaccurate, which is that people may enter this website only to make sabotage. According to Wolverton (2007), “It is not the number of articles available on Wikipedia that is up for debate, though. The argument amongst scholars is that the information available on Wikipedia is not necessarily accurate and that the articles themselves are particularly susceptible to Internet vandalism” (para.11). Wikipedia is not a source that you can depend on it to take an accurate information.
In conclusion, it is difficult for people who write in Wikipedia to see their article changes or miss something on them. Therefore, Wikipedia is not a good idea to take any resource from it. Researchers are not trusting Wikipedia since it is not a reliable source. Also, because Wikipedia is an open website and available to anyone, people may change the information and then people cannot trust any information from it.

Green Dinner
In “How green is your dinner?” (2007), the author claims that many people eat plant food in their diet without becoming vegetarians. He says that a lot of people become vegetarian because of the large amount of agriculture especially the students in the universities and animal rights activists also are vegetarians. In the last decade, the number of vegetarians was raised because of the benefits of plants, and to keep their health and the environment. It is easy for anyone to become vegetarian nowadays since the food plants are available in each supermarket, cafĂ©, and restaurant. In addition, he gives some examples from life of vegetarians; Cotter and Lia de Lancey. The author talks a lot about delancy and her feelings about vegetarian food. She says that people are interested in eat more if they eat vegetarian food more than if they eat red meat.
Imagine that there are no plants in the land? What will be happen? If the plants become extinct, then all the animals would die. So, plants are very necessary in our lives. Vegetarian food does not make a lot of problems, like those that non-vegetarian food makes. Therefore, people should convert to vegetarian food because it has low cholesterol, does not cause heart disease, and helps them lose weight.
First of all, vegetarian food gives people low cholesterol. Eating vegetarian will help the people to reduce the amount of cholesterol that they have. According to “Vegetarian diet cuts heart risk” (2002), “Eating more vegetables and soya-based products may be as effective at reducing cholesterol as medication” (para.1). For example, if anyone compares between the vegetable oil and non-vegetable oil, this person will see that the vegetable oil reduces the cholesterol while the other does not. the people are concerned about the high cholesterol in the blood and they try to reduce it. People are suffering from high cholesterol. This leads to heart disease.
Next, people who are vegetarian are not worried about heart disease. People want to forget the heart disease and any risk from it. According to Parker-Pope (2008), “A 2001 report in Nutrition Reviews concluded that eating just a handful of nuts (about three to four tablespoons) five times a week can reduce risk of coronary artery disease between 25 and 40 percent” (para.15). The high cholesterol and saturated fats to eat are fraught with the risk of heart disease and stroke. There is a good relation between the vegetarian and reducing the cholesterol that leads to heart disease.
Finally, a lot of people, especially women, want to lose weight. They asked many questions and spend a lot of money for that. They hate obesitys which has high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. It is the main reason that causes heart disease. According to “Vegetarian needs to lose weight” (n.d.), “A vegetarian diet can be one of the best for weight loss because it is based on low-fat vegetables, fruits, legumes and whole grains” (para.2). People want to have suitable weight to do each thing that they like.
In conclusion, people will choose vegetarian food in the future for many reasons, for example, like it has low cholesterol, it protect, from heart disease, and it help people in order to have a suitable weight. There is another reason which forces people to become vegetarian, which is poverty. People hope to live in this life without sickness, and like to live with good health to do a lot of activities that they are like.

Going Vegetarian
Is carbon very important in our life? Can humans live without carbon dioxide in the air? Can people depend on plants in their diet only? Some people say yes, people can depend on a vegetable diet and have a good health while others say food without meat is not enough. People want to live in their life without a fat body; they want to enjoy themselves while they are alive. Therefore, vegetarian food should be the main food in the future, because it is healthy to humans, it is easy to cook and cheap, and it keep the environment clean.
The first reason that makes vegetarian food the main food in the future is that it helps people to keep their body healthy. Vegetarian food will not make the body of human very big, since vegetarian food does not have fat like animal food does. It is well known that a vegetarian diet has a large number of fibers which help to protect the large intestine. In addition, vegetarians are healthier than their peers who eat meat a lot because they are subjected to a lower risk of diseases such as cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and other health common problems. Next, vegetarian food is easy to cook. Vegetarian cooking does not take a lot of time like meat. Anyone can make vegetarian food breezily with a recipe. Also, vegetarian food is not expensive like meat. In the US, meat is not too expensive as in other countries, but some people turn to vegetarian food because of religious or health issues, and these become more important in their lives later.
Finally, vegetarian food keeps the environment clean. There are some foods such as vegetable that produce less carbon than others like beef and dairy products. In Reville (2009), “the good news is that some foods produce much smaller carbon footprints than others and have the great added bonus that they are also much better for your general health” (para. 6). We know that carbon is very important for plants, especially in the chlorophyll process, but carbon is very dangerous if it level is too high. Some people consider carbon to be one of the polluting gases.
In conclusion, people must know first what vegetarians mean; vegetarians are people who do not eat meat, fish, or chicken in their diet and eat a varied vegetarian diet. Vegetarian food is very important since it is helps people to keep healthy; anyone can buy and cook it, and it is keeps the environment pure. A diet of plants is healthy because it contains very low fat and high fiber.

Ozone loss
In Leahy’s (2008) article, “Climate Change: Chemical Lobby Weakening Ozone Treaty,” he claims that the rate of skin cancer will be raised and also the climate will be changed because of the ozone problem. The author says that, as an example, more than ten thousand people in the US will die and one million or more have skin cancer. In addition, he shows some views of scientists who say that the ozone layer will be damaged within the next 40 years and a lot of people will have skin cancer. So he says that the people should protect the ozone layer by keeping huge quantities of carbon dioxide out and not enter our atmosphere. Also, he explains that a lot of the organisms, animals and plants, would not be continuing in this life. Finally the author suggests some solutions that use a little amount of energy.
What is the ozone layer? How would the life be without the ozone layer? What will life become like if the temperature reaches 50 Centigrade? The ozone layer is part of the atmosphere that surrounds the globe. People believe that destroying the ozone layer will cause the end of the world. People want to live in this life without any troubles; they want to live without pollution and with good health. The ozone layer has become a global issue, which people around the world focus on because of the risks involved. Therefore, the ozone layer is very important, because it protects life from high temperature, organism extinction, and environment pollution.
First of all, the temperature will rise if the ozone layer is lost. Imagine that the temperature today is 125 Fahrenheit; what will happen? A lot of people will have skin cancer and damage to the eye will be increased. According to Leahy (2008), “A less than three-minute exposure to the sun in Hawaii would have resulted in sunburn. Skin cancers would be at least 650 percent higher” (para. 10). High temperature causes inactivity in humans, and so the production will be decreased.
Next, the ozone layer protects the plants and animals from extinction. Erosion of the ozone layer will affect plant life and agriculture, as there are some plants that have a great sensitivity to the ultraviolet radiation that affects their production and is detrimental to the mineral content and nutritional values and thus cause a weak agriculture. Most of the plants and animals need a median temperature to survive. High temperature burns the plants and makes trouble for the animals’ life.
Finally, erosion of the ozone layer will raise the rate of the environment pollution. It causes forest fires and desertification. The smoke coming from the fire will spread in the air and make breathing a difficult process. Also, plants absorb carbon dioxide from the air and produce oxygen. Water pollution will not let the plants grow well, so the carbon dioxide will increase in the atmosphere and then affect the organism’s life.
In conclusion, the ozone layer is useful for many things; it is useful for the humans, animals and plants, and it is useful for the environment. The ozone layer protects the Earth from ultraviolet radiation released by the sun, which causes severe damage to humans. People should find solutions for the environmental threats to live on the Earth with good health.
